It’s been going strong for 500 years. Around the globe, in culture after culture and church after church, one small booklet has helped us know and apply the most important parts of the Bible. There are good reasons why this is so, and there are Bible passages that tell us whom God has chosen to lead with this booklet. And here’s the spoiler: it’s not the pastor!
We’re going to open up to the “Lord’s Prayer” part of the booklet and hear how Jesus taught us to pray. This isn’t a class, however. This is “living room discussion”, this is “in the car on the way review”, this is “dinner-time conversation”. So saddle up, cuddle up, and let’s do right, excellent, worthy things.

- but deliver us from the evil one (It’s deliverance, not prevention.)
- “Our Father who in heaven” (God doesn’t have an address, but he has a family.)
- Hallowed be Your name (May we know today that in the past your name was holy in our thoughts, words, and actions.)
- Your kingdom come (God has a culture, a lifestyle, that has to come to us.)
- Your will be done on earth as in heaven (Your will will be known to have be done on earth as in heaven.)
- Give us our daily bread (There’s wheat bread and then there’s Jesus bread. Gotta have both.)
- And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors (Do we really want God to act like us?)
- And do not lead us into temptation (Lead us anywhere and everywhere except there.)
